From a business point of view, TATRAFAN, s.r.o. is a company with two faces. Under the TATRAFAN FILM brand it acts as a supplier of BOPP packaging films, under the TATRAFAN ENVIRO brand as a processor of plastic waste and a manufacturer of products made from recyclates. Both parts stem from the same industrial background in Svit and from the CHEMOSVIT group.
The fundamental change of recent years is the end of the company’s own film production in Slovakia in 2021. According to its own information, the company continues to supply films to customers, but the production itself takes place in partner plants in Ukraine and Bulgaria. For buyers this means that in this area TATRAFAN acts primarily as a commercial and technical partner with application knowledge, not as a local manufacturer.
The ENVIRO division, by contrast, is built on its own operations in Svit and on the link to the CHEMOSVIT group. Most of the input waste comes from companies within the group, which allows the company to offer recyclates with a known and documented origin; the quality of the regranulate depends precisely on the purity and homogeneity of the input material.
The combination of recycling, injection moulding and wooden packaging production gives the company the shape of an internal supplier of packaging and handling solutions for the industrial site in Svit, which at the same time offers part of its capacity and services to external customers.
